In the Loop

I was sent home with a fever today, ironic because I went down to the nurse to get Advil.  I was sent home not for the reason that was ailing me.  My head feels like there is a giant octopus sucking my head.  Or like those creatures in Half Life. Head humpers? So I rested and watched movies. Its painful to write on the computer and do anything but lie down. This post is difficult to write...

I watched In the Loop first.  It was tremendously funny but marketed poorly.  The advertisements and trailer (to me) made it out like it was filled with quick, outlandish, humor which makes you laugh out loud.  And it was filled with humor, but a more subtle kind. I never really belly-laughed, though afterwords thinking about the movie I find it to be quite hilarious. Its one of the funniest movies I have seen in a very long time.  Sad too. Being my overly sensitive self, I felt so bad for Simon Foster. At the end of the movie, my heart sorta ached.  I think I need to toughen up.

Basically:  I recommend it strongly.  After all, the more pop culture references the merrier.  And who can resist the rare intelligent film which is (insert gasp) unique?
