Rodarte - Spring 2010

To take a break from Math, I started re-reviewing the Spring 2010 fashion week.  I don't understand why the fashion industry produces their "spring line" when its October, and we haven't hit winter yet.  But what do I know.  I am sure if Karl Lagerfeld ever heard that he would call me insolent or pathetically ignorant.

And I would tell him that I wasn't that big of a fan of his Spring collection.  There is nothing new about taking a Chanel suit and pairing it with sweet ivory and light feathers.  And honestly, the sweetness doesn't make it look young and fun, just boring.

I did like Rodarte though.

I don't think you could look much more creative then looking like a damaged warrior farie, but then again thats sort of Rodarte's signature look.  Maybe its not so creative when looking through a two-year old Fashion Rocks magazine and seeing Rodarte essentially producing the same items.  But, at least its atypical.  And it sure as hell beats what I wear to school everyday.

I like the designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy as well, and like reading their blogs/written work.  Its refreshingly honest and real.

back to Math...
