Sharkwater

Chrissy recently watched a documentary called "Sharkwater". I had never heard of it, and it won a sold 31 international awards! Now that I have seen it, I can agree with Chrissy. It is one of the best documentaries that I have seen, not only because it is both moving and factual, but because of the message it sends:

The message is clear. Sharks are subject to the media's innaccurate portrayal of vicious, scary man-eating monsters. You know, more people are killed each year by elephants than by sharks (sharkwater fact). Or the fact that seals eat fish just as aggressively, if not more so, as sharks but we as human beings see seals as more adorable (sharkwater fact).

There are only 17 countries protecting sharks. And the shark fin industry is still thriving.

Here are images from the Sharkwater website, and from the movie:

Stop Shark Finning.
                      Save Sharks.
